HERCA-ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY

PRESS RELEASE

HERCA – ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY

One year has passed since the founding of the Hellenic Event Rental Companies Association – HERCA. The pandemic crisis and the huge consequences that the world of events has suffered was the obvious motive; the main reasons though were, on the one hand the fact that an industry which exists in Greece for decades, so far did not have a union and, on the other hand, the necessity all the companies engaged in the rental of equipment for all types of events – cultural, corporate and social, conferences, exhibitions, sports and television-advertising productions – to upgrade their services through interaction and cooperation.

The Association, trying to reverse the consequences of the unprecedented health crisis, has made dialogue with the State a priority. Numerous letters describing the special characteristics of the industry, its contribution to thematic tourism and the country’s economy and the need for support were sent. The latest one has been a protest against the music ban at social events. Moreover, at the initiative of HERCA, 7 union-associations talked and came together and wrote letters to the Government, thus starting a wider cooperation in the field of Entertainment, Culture and Events, which lacks a secondary collective body.

During its first year, HERCA also participated in the global campaign #WeMakeEvents, in order to highlight that the world of events in Greece, which has special technological and organizational capabilities, is on red alert.

HERCA, now, numbers 50 members – companies throughout Greece that have decided to work under a spirit of cooperation and continuous interaction. The Association aims to support its members, by helping their development and promoting their capabilities in organizing unique events in Greece and abroad.
